We are thrilled to share some exciting news about how we are expanding our practice to better serve you and your family. At Affleck MD Eye Care, our mission has always been to provide the highest standard of vision care. To fulfill that promise, we have recently invested in a brand-new surgical center and state-of-the-art medical technology right here in our community.
Below is an overview of what these new upgrades mean for your care, along with a reminder of the foundational services you can continue to rely on.
What is New for Your Vision Care

- Bonneville Surgical Center: A brand-new, modern surgical suite designed entirely around your comfort, safety, and convenience.

Alcon ORA System Technology: This cutting-edge equipment takes live, 3D measurements of your eye during cataract surgery, allowing Dr. Affleck to instantly customize your procedure.
Dr. Affleck’s explains ORA, (Optiwave Refractive Analysis.)
Prior to cataract surgery, a patient’s eye is measured using wavefront technology. The measures the corneal power, the length of the eye, and many other parameters. These values are then used to determine the best power new lens (intraocular lens – IOL) for the eye. Since a cataract is a cloudy lens, the wavefront measurements, which use light, can have some inaccuracies in these measurements.
Now, during cataract surgery, after the cataract is removed, ORA repeats many of these measurements through the operating microscope. In many cases it will change the recommended power of the IOL, reducing the chance of the patient needing glasses after surgery. ORA is most often used when using a premium IOL, such as an astigmatism correcting lens (TORIC), or a multifocal lens (for example PanOptix). It is also commonly used when the cornea has been surgically changed, as in cases where LASIK has been done or RK, PRK, or other refractive procedures.”
At our practice, I use advanced ORA technology to deliver the crisp, clear vision my patients deserve. By combining premium lens replacements like PanOptix with ultra-precise ORA measurements and advanced dropless cataract surgery, I can create a truly winning combination for cataract treatment. The result? A hassle-free recovery, higher patient satisfaction, and exceptional visual outcomes. Restoring the exceptional clarity and lifestyle my patients have been dreaming of..,
